Privacy Policy
We believe in radical transparency. Here's exactly what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it helps improve your experience.
Our Core Principle
Transparency is at the heart of everything we do. As an independent AI news publication, we collect minimal data with one simple goal: to improve your reading experience and deliver better content that matches your interests.
We don't sell your data. We don't have ads. We don't track you across unrelated websites. Everything we collect stays with us and is used to operate LLM Rumors, understand what readers care about, protect the site, and make the publication better.
What Data We Collect
Newsletter Subscription
What: Your email address, subscription date, source of signup, unsubscribe token, referring page, and recent on-site journey that led to signup
Why: To send you our weekly AI news digest
Lawful basis: Consent for newsletter email. Legitimate interests for signup attribution and abuse prevention.
Retention: Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Page Visit Tracking
What: Page path, article slug where relevant, timestamp, IP address, approximate country/region/city from Cloudflare, browser user agent, and referrer
Why: To understand which content resonates, spot crawler traffic, debug abuse, and improve site performance
Lawful basis: Legitimate interests. We use first-party server logs, do not use third-party ad trackers, and honor browser Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control signals for the global pageview logger.
Retention: Raw analytics logs are kept only as long as needed for site analytics and abuse prevention, normally no longer than 12 months, unless needed for security or legal reasons.
Technical Information
What: Browser type, device type, referring website, IP-derived coarse location, and request metadata handled by Cloudflare
Why: To keep the site available, secure, and fast
Lawful basis: Legitimate interests in operating and securing the site.
Cookies We Use
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |

That's it! No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no ad retargeting pixels. Analytics are first-party and stored in our Cloudflare D1 database.

GDPR & International Privacy Rights
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or another region with similar privacy rights, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data.
For analytics and site security, we rely on legitimate interests: operating the site, measuring readership, detecting crawlers or abuse, and improving performance. We balance that against reader privacy by avoiding third-party ad trackers, limiting the fields collected, honoring privacy-control signals for pageview analytics, and using aggregate reporting where possible.
Some service providers, including Cloudflare for hosting, D1 database storage, Workers, R2, KV, and security tooling, may process data outside your country. We keep analytics data inside first-party systems and do not sell or share it for advertising.
To exercise rights or object to analytics processing, email privacy@llmrumors.com. Include the email address used for newsletter requests, or the IP address and approximate time window for analytics requests.
